We have not tried this ourselves but there is no reason why it should not work. Depending on how you are "feeding" the monitor you may need to use Output Independent Profiling (OIP).
It will also depend on the probe you are using I expect you will need the Eye-One pro, I am not sure how the Eye-One Display handles plasma devices. I will look into probe support for plasmas post more information once I have it.
Cheers,
Mike
PS. If you do manage to profile your NEC Plasma TV(PX61XM4W) could you please forward me through the profile as I would be very interested to see how such a device performs. Thanks |

Recently we have very good results profiling Panasonic 11 series plasmas.
We found we needed to turn off any dynamic features and set the plasma into a more or less neutral state. The settings we have found to work and the procedure used can be found on The Cine-tal website here ...
http://cine-tal.com/trainingsupport/whitepapers/Plasma%20Calibration%20with%20Davio%20workflow_smpte.pdf
Please try tghe above procedure and let us know how you go. If you successfully profile any other model plasma display we are also interested to hear how you go.
Cheers,
Mike |
